Mike King and his wife, Carol, created Barbados Singing Holidays in 2011 to combine their passion for encouraging people to sing with their love of the Caribbean.

Marrying into a West Indian family, Mike now divides his time between Barbados and London.  He is considered to be one of the UK's leading choir directors and has gained a reputation for his emotive vocal arrangements and his enthusiasm for making positive change through music.

By the age of 20 Mike was teaching singing at Goldsmiths University of London and now, over two decades on, runs vocal workshops and directs choirs internationally, both professional and community.  He has worked as a vocal coach for the UK television show The Voice, directed the world's largest choir in the Biggest Band Project for the Guinness Book of Records and has worked with artists such as Mark Ronson, Lily Allen and Florence + the Machine.

Mike is the founder and MD of his unique project the Mike King Collective (MKC), one of the UK’s premier jazz, soul and R&B vocal groups, and together they have performed with two-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo and at a host of concerts and events in UK's most prestigious venues.

Mike has been commissioned to arrange and direct performances for clients including the BBC, Abbey Road Studios and Channel 4 and he dedicates much of his time to raising money for various charities worldwide such as the St. Thomas Lupus Trust, Hope Foundation Barbados, Terrence Higgins Trust, Chisomo Orphanage in Malawi and Water Aid. He created his own charity, the MyCool Music Foundation, in 2018 which aims to make a positive difference to individuals and communities through music.

Mike and Carol create a warm, friendly and supportive environment. They pride themselves in offering an amazing holiday experience and providing a personal service that ensures clients have the best time possible.
